This test measures the amount of IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) in your blood. IGF-1 is a hormone that manages the effects of growth hormone (GH) in your body. Together, IGF-1 and GH promote normal growth of bones and tissues. GH levels in the blood fluctuate throughout the day depending on your diet and activity levels. But IGF-1 levels remain stable. So, an IGF-1 test is a useful way to find out if your body is making a normal amount of GH.

Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by your primary care physician.

How it Works

  1. Place Lab Order: Purchase the lab order here online.
  2. Send Requisition Form: Once all order information is completed and ordered, you will receive a lab form via email within 48-72 hours. If you order on Friday, please be patient as your lab order form will come Monday. Please be sure to check spam.
  3. QR Scanned: Once you receive your PDF order. Print out and scan the QR code in the bottom left corner of your requisition form.
  4. Blood Draw Scheduled: Choose a convenient Premier Point+ draw center and book your appointment.
  5. Blood Draw: Bring your PDF printed out to your scheduled appointment for blood draw 
  6. Your Blood Sample will be Shipped to Access Labs.
  7. Results Delivered in 3-4 business days.
    *In some locations, there may not be a Premier Point+ draw center available. If that’s the case you will receive a lab kit that you can take to your local lab for sample collection.
